Whether music is your livelihood or simply your passion, whether you're a beginner playing your very first notes, an experienced player seeking new inspiration, or a pro looking to reach higher levels, I will make every session fun while challenging you to reach for your best... My entire approach is about tapping into your creativity and love of music, and taking you where you want to go!

My teaching is completely individual... I will find out what excites you, understand how you learn, identify your strengths and weaknesses, then use the songs you love as a vehicle to teach you all the skills you need to make music in your own unique way... I've been told I break things down and demonstrate them in a way that's so easy to understand and use.

​

Because my students play many different instruments, and sing and play all styles of music, my work is literally completely different every hour of the day, depending on who I have in front of me... and I love that! Here's a typical snapshot of a day in my life:

~ Coming into the home of a new student and filling it with so much beautiful music, laughter, and excitement that all the other siblings decide they want lessons too... Then the parents join in, and suddenly we have a family band!

​

~ Helping a gifted songwriter flesh out their ideas and arrange their songs... Then taking them step by step through the recording and producing process, to create an original masterpiece that can launch a career, or simply be listened to and cherished for life.

~ Giving a young child their first musical experience, on an instrument or discovering their own singing voice... The sense of wonder and amazement at the sounds they can create is absolutely priceless.

~ Coaching a rock band, a cappella group, family band, or any kind of ensemble, and watching their eyes light up as they implement my suggestions and hear their sound start to really sizzle, as all the pieces come together!

~ Sharing that "Aha" moment, that look when you suddenly "get it" and weave what you just learned into the artistry of your playing!

 

By the way, It was exactly such a moment with a student that inspired me to discover my true calling as a coach and mentor... I realized that, even more than I love being on stage, my greatest thrill is helping you find your own way, with one "Aha" moment after another...
